"It's taken some time, but I learned to cope by writing. Not songs and lyrics - just putting it on paper and reminding myself that this is very real and I'm only human. Sometimes putting it on paper is all I needed - other times I've resorted to skating on First street in Jax Beach. Letting the wind take me and listening to the ocean crashing just a block away. Just little ways I give myself a little reality check. The world and everything else is still working around me; I've just got another obstacle before me, soon to be behind me.
Just about every one of these songs have a way of taking me out of my head space. Some make me want to sing my heart out. Others make it effortless to smile again. Overall, they're some of my favorite songs that have helped me through some of my toughest days and I hope whoever is listening may hear something new that could help them cope too."

airplane mode is a collection of music to help cope with stress, depression and anxiety, curated by risik & friends.
"It started as a cathartic release just for myself. I wanted to create a mix, an hour or two long, because I didn't really have any mixes that I listen to when I am feeling sad or anxious, only playlists. The more time I spent on the project, the more I wanted to include others, and the more I began to think of it as a community. Everyone has their own coping mechanisms, but after surveying hundreds of people who also live with anxiety and depression, the connection between the overwhelming amount of responses that I saw was that we all detach ourselves from the world and find solace in music. together, we turn on airplane_mode." - risik
